The Covid Made Long project is a research partnership led by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), in collaboration with Long Covid Kids, Imperial College, Long Covid Support, and Positive Negatives. At its heart, this project has always been about making sure that the voices of young people with lived experience of Long Covid are not just heard, but truly centred.

Over 1,000 messages sent to UK politicians. Our campaign “Invisible to Policy, Visible in Children’s Lives” is gathering momentum. The issue is beginning to gain attention in Parliament. Recently, Oxford East MP Anneliese Dodds asked what assessment has been made of the impact of Long Covid on young people who are not in education, employment or training. Our evidence draws on a combination of lived experience, formal testimony and emerging research, including: Lived experience of young people who are unable to sustain education, training or employment due to ongoing ill health. We are delighted to share that our Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign raised £19,276. including Gift Aid. This remarkable result will enable us to continue supporting children, young people and families living with Long Covid and overlapping illnesses. Thank you to everyone who donated, shared our campaign, and stood alongside the families we support.

Starting university can be nerve racking for any student ,even without the added complications of a long term health condition. This blog is an introduction to help freshers find an inclusive guide to make a more manageable uni experience. Making little daily swaps and adding breaks can make everything more enjoyable while accommodating your condition.

At Our Pace was created to offer young people living with Long Covid and overlapping illnesses a supportive space to reflect, share, and contribute in ways that work for them. Many young people need opportunities that are flexible and understanding of changing health. At the same time, there are very few resources created by young people with lived experience that others can recognise themselves in and learn from. This project was designed with that in mind.

On 28 November 2025, Bhatt Murphy wrote to the Cabinet Office and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC). In our letter, we invite the Prime Minister to make a statement in the House of Commons.

Overlapping illness alliance: Parliamentary drop-in summary

29 September 2025. Module 8 of the UK Covid Inquiry opened before Baroness Hallett at Dorland House. Children and young people living with Long Covid were present and represented by Long Covid Kids and Long Covid Kids Scotland.

We were honoured to be chosen as Charity of the Year by Silkstead Sunflowers, who dedicated their Sunflower Festival 2025 to supporting children and young people living with Long Covid. Thanks to the generosity of festival-goers, we’re thrilled to announce Silkstead Sunflowers raised an incredible £1451.68 for Long Covid Kids. hese funds will directly support our mission; helping us provide peer support, reduce stigma, raise awareness, and continue our advocacy.

When I heard about Long Covid STARS, I thought how brilliant of an idea it was, since expressing myself through writing has been so cathartic for me personally. The aim of the project was to utilise arts-based methods to explore the lived experiences of young people with Long Covid, like myself. I’m involved with a lot of advocacy work with Long Covid Kids (LCK), as it makes me feel less helpless in the face of such societal stigma and political disinterest.
