Four brave Long Covid patients, including thirteen year old Imogen spoke on a BBC NI Spotlight episode on Long Covid. Issues highlighted included the lack of services available in Northern Ireland. Imogen spoke about her parents having to pay for private healthcare services to get their daughter the help she needed.

This week Prof. Nolan chair of NPHET commented;

"we seem to have come close to suppressing what is a very transmissible virus," he said.

This would seem to be an extraordinarily premature statement, given there are still around 1k cases reported per day! Furthermore that is likely a significant under estimate since children who are close contacts are no longer being tested.

The Taoiseach also commented this week that school transmission was at levels seen during the summer. LCK would question how that assertion can be made when contact tracing and testing is no longer being performed on children in schools!

If your child experiences any symptoms that indicate they are unwell, it COULD be COVID-19, and you should get them a test to help identify if it is a current Covid infection. Please see our Frequently Asked Questions page for more information.
