The Three Peaks Challenge is to climb the highest peak in England, Scotland and Wales over a single weekend. It's pretty tough for anyone. But for Merri it will be an additional challenge. Because she has Long Covid herself!
Merri will scale mountains to help Long Covid Kids scale their own... Read on to find out how!

But first, meet Merri. In her own words:
As a Long Covid patient myself, I understand the perfect storm this illness presents to young people.
So, later this month, Merri is taking on the Three Peaks challenge to start a new tuition fund for Long Covid Kids.
Long Covid Kids Tuition Fund
Merri's ambition is to support pupils who have missed school because of their symptoms, and whose parents or carers are unable to pay for private tuition. Merri is partnering with Oppidan Education to deliver one-to-one tuition, either in-person or via zoom.
Merri explains:
Every pound raised will go towards a Long Covid Kids Tuition Fund, subsidising one-to-one tuition for young people with Long Covid in the run-up to this year's exam season.
The Challenge
The Three Peaks Challenge is hard going. But for Merri, now a post-graduate student in Oxford, it's extra-hard. Two years ago she got Covid.
This made the challenge very personal. Two years ago, she could barely climb the stairs. Now she is going to climb not just one, but three mountains in a row.
How can I help?
Merri has set up a gofundme page which tells her story in more detail. She aims to raise £10,000.
Long Covid Kids will help to administer the Fund, aiming to prioritise subsidised tuition for those who need it most. But we cannot achieve this ambition without your support. As Merri explains:
I can't do this without your help. This Fund won't exist without your kind donations, and I need the peer-pressure to get up those mountains - protein bars alone just aren't going to cut it!
We look forward to hearing more about the Fund and about how preparation for the Challenge is going.
Go Merri!
