Long Covid Kids attended the PoTS UK Masterclass Conference, hosted at the Royal College of General Practitioners in London.
Our volunteer Anne led a stand featuring children’s artwork alongside copies of the Young Person’s Guide to Living with Long Covid and graphic novel developed through the Covid Made Long project.
The event provided valuable opportunities to engage with clinicians from across the UK, reconnect with colleagues from Long Covid Support, PoTS UK, and Mast Cell Action, and hear from speakers exploring a wide range of topics relating to autonomic dysfunction and chronic illness.
It was also a valuable reminder of the overlaps and shared challenges many children and young people living with Long Covid and overlapping illness experience — including symptoms affecting energy, cognition, mobility and participation in education and daily life.
We were pleased to also showcase Including Learners with Medical Needs in Schools by Cath Kitchen OBE, which Long Covid Kids contributed to, reinforcing the importance of inclusive, health-informed educational approaches for children with fluctuating and less visible illness.

We were particularly encouraged by the interest shown in the children’s artwork, books, and resources shared throughout the day. Discussions reflected growing curiosity and increasing awareness around PoTS, Long Covid, and overlapping conditions.
We were also delighted to receive a request for children’s artwork to be displayed within clinical waiting rooms an important reminder of the role creativity and lived experience can play in improving understanding within healthcare environments.
Thank you to PoTS UK for hosting such an informative and collaborative event.
