Invitation to a Roundtable Discussion with Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care. Scotland

On 22nd November, LCK CEO Sammie and LCK Scottish Representative Helen will attend the Scottish Government roundtable discussion alongside Long Covid Scotland and others.

Last month, health and social care freelance Journalist Pennie Taylor posed LCK Scotland's question to Humza Yousef, Cabinet Secretary for Health & Social Care Scotland during the Health Alliance Scotland's Q&A session. We were delighted to learn that he extended an invitation to Long Covid Kids to discuss our concerns for existing children with Long Covid in Scotland and prevention of future Long Covid children.

On 23rd September Sammie attended the roundtable meeting with Sajid Javid with positive results;

"We were pleased to hear confirmation direct from Mr. Javid that there are plans to update the COVID-19 symptom list soon, but we worry it will be too late..." Sammie McFarland

We will have very limited time to put forward our points of discussion however we always aim to represent Long Covid Kids families in everything we do. If you would like to input your personal concerns then please do get in touch.

LongCovidKids.org is a patient-led advocacy and support organisation led by Sammie Mcfarland for families of children with Long Covid. Our story started with a short film on the long-lasting symptoms of Covid in children.

If your child experiences any symptoms that indicate they are unwell, it COULD be COVID-19, and you should get them a test to help identify if it is a current Covid infection. Please see our Frequently Asked Questions page for more information.
