It looked like the flu at first.
But with no testing available, it was impossible to tell.
The reality is, Indiana’s one of the thousands of pupils left behind due to Covid-19. With her education on hold for six months, she tirelessly battled illness and fatigue.
Finally, after almost a year, she started to recover. At last, it looked like life could finally return to normal.
Then it happened again.
Feeling worse than before, Indiana crashed hard after another infection. The doctor referred her for chronic fatigue but after a few blood tests and an echocardiogram, investigations hit a dead end.
The family left with more questions than answers.
Unfortunately, her school offered little support either. Struggling to teach herself from bed, Indiana didn’t receive a single email from her tutor.
Their silence spoke volumes.
Tired, stressed, and fighting through the fog, she somehow managed to sit two GCSEs. However, her educational aspirations are starting to feel more and more out of reach.
