This meeting will focus on the experiences, challenges and needs of children and young people living with Long Covid, ensuring that their voices and realities are at the centre of the conversation.
The session will explore the impact of Long Covid on children and young people, drawing on current research, emerging evidence and the lived experiences shared by families within the Long Covid Kids community as well as expert paediatric speakers. The session will highlight the significant challenges many children face in education, daily life, social participation and planning for their futures.
The aim is to help members of the Long Covid Kids community and those working alongside them better understand the child-specific impacts of Long Covid, the importance of robust data collection and accurate public information, the need to preserve and develop specialist expertise, and the long-term implications that prolonged illness during childhood and adolescence can have for health, education, wellbeing and future life opportunities.
Please help us reach more people with the power to drive action and meaningful change to improve the lives and experiences of children and young people affected.
Wherever you live in the UK, we encourage you to contact your elected representatives. If you live in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, this may include both your MP and your devolved representative(s), as many of the issues affecting children and young people with Long Covid relate to devolved responsibilities such as health and education.
