Three illustrated book covers on Long Covid for young people. Titles: Long Covid Lives, A Young Person’s Guide, A Young Person’s Glossary.

We are so proud to share some incredibly exciting news. Three brand-new resources, created by young people and for young people, have just been launched, and we believe they have the power to make a real difference to the lives of children and families living with Long Covid.

What is the Covid Made Long Project?

The Covid Made Long project is a research partnership led by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), in collaboration with Long Covid Kids, Imperial College, Long Covid Support, and Positive Negatives. At its heart, this project has always been about making sure that the voices of young people with lived experience of Long Covid are not just heard, but truly centred.

A dedicated group of peer collaborators and young people have been working alongside researchers to share their experiences, shape the direction of the project, and co-produce three resources that we are incredibly excited to now share with the world.

The Three New Resources

  • A 3 part graphic series called ‘Long Covid Lives’ which highlights a range of experiences based on the lives of young people and their families living with Long Covid.

  • Long Covid: A Young Person’s Guide, which is an illustrated guide with practical information, case studies and tips and tricks about navigating Long Covid.

  • Living with Long Covid: A Young Person’s Glossary which helps to explain any medical terms used in the other resources. These are accompanied by descriptions from young people experiencing these symptoms.

These resources have been created with one clear purpose: to help. Whether you’re a young person wanting to better understand your own condition, a parent trying to explain Long Covid to a teacher or doctor, or someone who simply wants to learn more, there is something here for you.

Long Covid in children and young people is still widely misunderstood, and far too many families are navigating this condition without adequate support or recognition. Resources like these are a vital step towards changing that.

We are incredibly proud of every young person, peer collaborator, researcher, and illustrator who has contributed their time, energy, and lived experience to bring these resources to life. Your courage and creativity are an inspiration.

Access the Resources

All three resources are now available to access for free. If you know someone who may benefit, a friend, a family member, a teacher, a healthcare professional, please do share this post and help us spread the word.
