Service Description
Parent Education Session: Understanding Sensory Needs This session will explore how sensory processing and sensory input can affect fatigue, concentration and emotional regulation for young people with Long Covid and provide strategies on how you can increase or decrease sensory input to support energy and fatigue management. Duration: Approximately 1–1.5 hours What will the session cover? - What sensory processing is - How sensory input contributes to fatigue and energy management - Recognising signs of sensory overload - Practical strategies to reduce sensory overwhelm and support fatigue management - Opportunity to ask questions and share personal experiences and strategies Important information - This is an educational session and does not replace medical or therapeutic care. - Confidentiality and safeguarding policies apply. - Cameras and microphones are optional. The session will be led by Occupational Therapy students Chloe Ball and Cristina Postolache - supervised by Health Lead Kirsty Stanley.
