Clare Daniel
Trustee
Clare has more than 30 years’ experience in education, including 22 years as a primary school Headteacher, SENDCo, and Designated Safeguarding Lead. Throughout her career, she has worked extensively with schools, local authorities, voluntary organisations, and multidisciplinary teams to support children and young people’s education, wellbeing, and development.
Her daughter was diagnosed with Long Covid in early 2021 at the age of 13 following an initially unremarkable infection at the end of 2020. Since then, Clare has supported her family through a complex journey across paediatric and adult health services, including the closure of local Long Covid clinics. She has also worked closely with education providers to secure appropriate educational provision through medical needs tuition and an EOTAS package via an EHCP post-16.
Clare brings significant expertise in inclusion, safeguarding, special educational needs, and child-centred practice, helping to strengthen Long Covid Kids’ work across education, advocacy, and family support. As she approaches retirement in 2026, she looks forward to creating more opportunities to support children and young people through her continued work with the charity.
