The Times article - Parents accused of faking their children's Long Covid

LCK has been committed to improving recognition and understanding of Long Covid in children since 2020. We are pleased that some families, in some areas of England report having a better healthcare experience than in 2022.

However, families continue to experience barriers and bias that prevents their child from accessing the healthcare they urgently need. This article in The Times reports accurately on the negative experiences that families report and is a reminder of how much work we still need to do.

We are really proud that Long Covid Kids have been able to support families access healthcare. By providing advocacy and support, connecting them with the right DRs our charity has made a difference to many outcomes. Without the assistance of the amazing DRs who support LCK the outcomes could have been very different. Huge shout out to them and to our very own Health Lead Kirsty Stanley.

Things have changed for the better over the last four years, Long Covid is recognised in children but only by some Health Care Professionals in some areas and without consistency.

We still have so much more work to do to ensure families are never treated in this way.

Thank you for your continued support.
